Bayesian Search Theory
Bayesian Search Theory is a mathematical framework combining probability theory and optimal search strategies to locate a stationary or moving target whose initial location is uncertain. By modeling the prior probability distribution of the target's location across a discretized spatial grid and updating this distribution via Bayes' Theorem as negative search results accumulate, the framework maximizes the cumulative probability of detection over a bounded time horizon or energy expenditure budget.
