Index Mapping
Index mapping is a deterministic algorithmic technique that transforms a discrete, sparse, multidimensional, or irregular key space into a compact, dense, contiguous one-dimensional integer sequence. By establishing an injective or bijective relationship $f: X \to Y$, index mapping eliminates memory fragmentation, enables cache-conscious data layouts, and accelerates data retrieval operations from non-contiguous stores down to absolute O(1) access complexity.
